Wow! You people are AMAZING!! Sometime during the night you pushed the fundraising for my wife’s MS Walk over the $4000 mark!!! You know what that means now, right? I need to get FIVE colours dyed into my hair and beard! That process will begin in a little over one hour as I head to the salon and possibly give the nice lady a heart attack. I guess this also makes the process of choosing colours easier since we’re hitting pretty much the whole rainbow now.
Who knew a lack of dignity could be so motivating? Well…aside from reality show stars I guess.
Expect updates throughout the afternoon as the dye job unfolds. If you still wish to donate, here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/73znn8q
So I’ve been convinced to try out this tumblr thing as a central repository for the randomness that falls from my pen, generally in the wee hours of the night. That said, I’ll probably repost some of my twit pic works here over the next couple weeks, old and new things. I ask your patience during this.
I’d also like to take a moment to shill for my wife right now. As many of you who follow me currently on Twitter, Facebook and Ustream know, she is participating in the annual MS 10K walk this coming Sunday April 22nd. To assist her in fundraising I have offered up my dignity and my beard for visual abuses. I’m going to dye it. Yes, the date has been set!! This coming Saturday April 21st I will be settling down into the salon chair to get my silvered chin and head dyed. The question remaining is how many colours!
To date she’s raised just over $3,000 for MS research!! Wow!! That’s fantastic!! Voting on my facebook page has declared PURPLE to be the primary choice of everyone, but that was the $2000 goal. With each additional $500 achieved we’ve added another colour to my hair job. I want to ask you to keep on donating!! Let’s see how many colours we can get on my head!! And if we can get to $5000 I will attend SDCC with a colour mohawk.
You can donate here: http://tinyurl.com/73znn8qup until Sunday. Follow up with your donation with an email to me and I will send you a printable pdf of this image as a personal thank you for contributing to the fundraiser.
If you can’t donate please help spread the word, or maybe take part in the next MS event in your area to raise awareness. It’s a very exciting time in MS research and a number of new therapies are on the horizon.
